Pretzel is designed to help families share photos, comments, and updates privately. Photos are not public. They’re only shared with the connections you choose.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to give us, like your name, email address, profile details, comments, captions, photos, videos, camera roll uploads, and anything else you submit in the app.

If you upload photos or videos, we collect and store that content so you can share it with your connections.

If you upload from your camera roll, we collect the files you select and any related metadata we need to process and display them in the app.

Information collected automatically

When you use Pretzel, we may automatically collect things like your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, session information, push notification token, and basic usage information needed to keep the app working.

We also store account and security information like login sessions, last active time, and related service records.

Information from third-party services

If you sign in using a third-party identity provider, we receive the information that provider makes available to us for authentication and account setup, such as an account identifier, name, and email address, depending on your settings and the provider you use.

We use third-party service providers to help us operate Pretzel, including cloud storage, authentication, push notifications, and secure infrastructure services.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to create and manage your account, let you sign in, store and display your photos and videos, show comments and family connections, send notifications, keep things secure, prevent abuse, fix bugs, and improve the app.

We also use information to provide customer support, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

How We Share Information

We share information in a few limited ways:

• with the connections you choose, so they can see the photos, videos, comments, and updates you share with them;
• with service providers that help us run Pretzel, store data, send notifications, and support the app; and
• when required by law, to protect our rights, to protect users, or to respond to a lawful request.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Photos, Videos, and Sharing

Pretzel is built for private sharing. Content you post is visible only to the people you connect with through the app. You control your connections and who can view shared content.

We currently store photos and videos in Google Cloud Storage so we can deliver them to your devices and the devices of your connections.

How We Protect Your Photos and Videos

We use access controls, encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections, and service-level protections designed to keep your content private while it is being transmitted and stored.

Photos and videos are not public. They’re stored so they can be accessed only by the app and by the people you choose to share them with.

Google Cloud Storage helps us store your content in access-controlled infrastructure that is not meant to be publicly accessible and is managed through authenticated services.

Push Notifications

If you allow push notifications, we use a push token so we can send updates about shared photos, comments, connection requests, and similar activity.

You can turn off push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

On the web, we may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and improve basic functionality. We do not use cookies for advertising tracking.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as it’s needed to provide Pretzel, maintain your account, and meet legal or security obligations.

If you delete your account, we’ll delete the account and associated content, including your photos and videos, subject to any information we’re required or permitted to retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or similar legitimate business purposes.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account from within the app settings. When you do, we’ll remove your account and associated content as described above.

Children's Privacy

Pretzel is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we’ll take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your Choices

Depending on how you use Pretzel, you may be able to update your name, turn off push notifications, delete your account, or contact us with questions about your information.

You can also sign out of the app at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, give you additional notice.
